Should I Choose Inpatient Rehab in Colorado?

Inpatient

When it comes to rehabilitation for addiction, there is no one size fits all treatment method. There are ways that tend to work and tend to offer the best support, but what you need for yourself and your treatment is going to be up to you. That being said, there are ways you can help yourself and set yourself up for the best possible success when it comes to your treatment and path for recovery.

One of the first things you need to consider when it comes to treatment is to look at inpatient vs outpatient rehab options, the benefits of both, and for whom they work best. Different things and different energies exist with inpatient vs outpatient rehab so you’ll need to do your research to make sure you’re making the choice that’s going to be best for you and your loved ones as you work through your treatment for addiction.

Outpatient Rehab

So, what is outpatient rehab? As the name suggests, this is a type of rehab that involves you continuing to live and work outside of a rehab facility. This involves attending daily treatments such as therapy, counseling, and group sessions at a facility. This allows you to continue to care for your home and family and maintain your job and social structure while going through treatment. It tends to cost less but the trade off is a less intensive support system. Often, outpatient is a later step for those who have completed inpatient rehab but, for some, outpatient rehab may be the way to go for their entire recovery.

Some things to consider are whether or not you experience consistent and constant urges as the burden will be on you to keep yourself disciplined during outpatient rehab. It’s also on you to show up for sessions and therapies and do the work your counselors request of you. You also need to monitor if you think you will require medical treatment during this time and how you can have quick access to it.

Inpatient Rehab

This is also called residential rehab as you are required to live at the facility where you are receiving your treatment. This is an effective treatment for those with severe addictions, constant urges, and the possibility of a medical emergency during rehab. While living under supervision and care you will receive therapy and group counseling, as well as other therapy options. There are measured phases you work through while in the facility and you are under constant care and supervision while there.

Keep in mind that inpatient rehab requires a separation from your daily life and can often cost a lot more. But the structure and care you receive is exceptional and more proven than outpatient alone. The structure of the treatment often helps those who cannot conquer addiction on their own.
