Does Rehab Work?

There are plenty of misconceptions about rehab, and it’s hard to separate fact from fiction. It’s easy to get lost in the confusion, especially if you’re currently struggling with an addiction. Does it really work? Is it worth the cost? How do I avoid relapse? We’ll cover the basics of rehab and how you can make the most out of it to live your fullest and healthiest life for both yourself and your loved ones.

Does it really work

Where do people go for rehab?

That’s often up to a number of circumstances–what you can afford, what’s available, what treatment you need vs what treatment centers can provide. There’s no magic, one-size-fits-all rehab center and that’s likely why a lot of folks get frustrated with the rehab process. You get what you put into it. At Serenity, we offer treatment for alcohol addiction, heroin addiction, opiate addiction, xanax addiction, cocaine addiction, and meth addiction. We also offer separate programs for men and women as well as both inpatient and outpatient options to fit every need

What can I expect from rehab?

Routine and structure. Each program is different, but they’re all focused on giving patients a routine to follow each day in order to bring a sense of normalcy and control to their lives. You’ll likely spend any given day in group therapy sessions, one-on-one sessions, exercising or getting physical activity, nutrient rich meals, as well as free time. You’ll expected to be introspective, honest, and self reflective. Substance abuse isn’t about any particular substance so much as it’s about you and what lead you to become addicted. Conquering that is most important.

What about after rehab?

Outpatient rehab is a great way to keep yourself accountable once you return to life outside the facility. You’ll have regular check-ins with fellow recovered addicts, access to counseling, help in housing or job placement if you need it, and a whole lot more. After months in rehab, you’re not simply dumped back out into the world with no safety net. This is a marathon, not a sprint. You need to give yourself time with the tools you have to develop lasting habits that will keep you from relapsing once out of treatment.
