Phone Interview Process:
Call 303-321-2533 x242 for the over the phone interview. We will ask for your DOB and SSN to verify criminal background history for acceptance into the program.
If you are interested in applying and starting a new life in sobriety, you must take certain steps. If you want to complete a phone interview, you must call our Outreach offices between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. An Outreach representative will be standing by to take your phone interview and guide you through the rest of the qualifying process. Please be sure to have a list of what you are charged with and in which county(s) you are charged, and a list of names and addresses for your attorney, probation/parole officer and diversion officer’s as well as your judge, court room and division. You should also be aware of your medical history, types of medication and dosages you are currently taking and names and addresses of any doctors that are currently treating you and what they are treating you for.
After your phone interview has been completed, you will receive an information packet. The packet includes important information about the program and what you might expect and what will be expected of you, if you are accepted into the program. This packet includes a ‘Consent to Release’ form. This form gives us the permission we need from you in order to gather information that helps determine acceptance into Serenity. You must fill this form out and mail back to the Stout Street Foundation immediately. We will not be able to determine acceptance or gather information about your criminal, medical, mental, and legal histories without it.
Once we have the completed phone interview and have received a signed consent form by you, we will be able to start the process of gathering certain information that will help us to determine if the Stout Street Foundation is right for you. This process may take up to 2 weeks to complete and sometimes longer. It all depends on what you are charged with, where you are charged, and how quickly your attorney gets vital information to us.
We are here to work with and for you. PLEASE… DO NOT keep calling collect. We are just like any other business and collect calls cost money. We are glad to help you, but we cannot do our job effectively if you keep calling. Please call only as directed by the representative handling your case.
Once we have received a copy of your criminal history, we will begin the process of going through the information. We will look for patterns of criminal behavior and violence. Unfortunately, if you have arson or sex crimes in your criminal history we will not be able to accept you into Serenity. Violence such as battery, domestic related violence, and simple assaults will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Stronger forms of violence such as assault in the first or second degree, aggravated crimes, and serious bodily harm or injury resulting in death can also be dealt with on a case by case basis, but usually result in being denied access to the program.
After your phone interview file is complete, your file will go before the clinical staff for review. Based upon the information we collected the clinical staff will make a decision about whether or not Serenity is a good treatment option for you. Please keep in mind that due to the sheer volume of phone interviews that we receive on a daily basis, it may take the clinical staff up to a week to review your file. Please do not keep calling asking for results. Your Outreach Representative will give you a time and date to call back.
Once the clinical staff has reviewed your file and has made a decision, a letter of acceptance or denial will be generated on your behalf. The letter will be sent to your attorney and probation officer. At this point, our job is done. It’s up to your attorney and the courts to determine if you will actually enter Serenity.
